Menlo College Alumna Remembered by Family through Substantial Scholarship Endowment Posted on March 5, 2025October 9, 2025 by Tess Rewick Atherton, CA – March 2025 – Tina Jeswani graduated from Menlo College in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in International Business Management. Sadly, Tina passed away on March 5, 2015. In honor of the 10th anniversary of her passing, her family has chosen to endow a substantial scholarship at Menlo College for international students. The following is a note from Tina’s mother to the future recipients of the scholarship: “Menlo was more than just a university to Tina; it was her home, her community, and the place where she truly thrived. She embraced every opportunity, working on campus, forming lifelong friendships, and discovering the strength within her. In Menlo’s close-knit environment, she found a space where she could grow, dream, and believe in herself. She became her best version here. Tina embraced every moment at Menlo with a full heart. She worked on campus not just to support herself but because she loved being part of the community. Always there for others—helping friends, offering kind words, she believed small acts of kindness made a difference. Within her time at Menlo, she found the confidence to chase her dreams, the strength to overcome challenges, and the space to grow into her best self. This scholarship is not just a tribute to Tina, it is a beacon of hope for those who will walk the same halls she once did. May it remind you that your dreams matter, your struggles do not define you, and your potential is limitless. To those receiving this scholarship, know that your story is still being written, and its pages are filled with endless possibilities. Embrace every opportunity, lift others as you rise. Just like Tina did, may you find your light here at Menlo, and may you shine brighter than you ever thought possible.” These words are deeply inspirational, and capture the essence of what we hope to impart to future generations of Menlo graduates; igniting their passions, building a strong network with their classmates, and giving them hope for the future. Thank you to the Jeswani family for sharing Tina’s light with us, and for this incredible gift. We are very grateful and proud to be part of her legacy. Menlo College to Launch New Developmental Women’s Wrestling Program Posted on January 10, 2025May 30, 2025 by Tess Rewick Menlo College to Launch New Developmental Women’s Wrestling Program Atherton, CA – January, 2025: Menlo College is thrilled to announce the launch of a developmental Women’s Wrestling Program. This program not only expands opportunities for female student-athletes but also enriches the college’s sports culture and contributes to the growth of women’s wrestling in the community. It will provide aspiring wrestlers with top-tier training, competitive opportunities, and academic support, paving the way for success in the sport while earning a world-class education at Menlo College. Wrestling has become one of the fastest-growing high school sports for girls in the United States. According to USA Wrestling, over 30,000 female wrestlers are participating at the high school level nationwide, a dramatic increase from just a decade ago. Despite this growth, opportunities at the collegiate level remain limited, leaving many talented athletes needing pathways to continue their careers. “At Menlo, we are unwavering in our commitment to providing opportunities for student-athletes to continue their competitive careers while pursuing an excellent education,” said Keith Spataro, Vice President for Athletics at Menlo College. “The introduction of a developmental women’s wrestling program bridges the gap for female wrestlers, offering them the resources and support they need to succeed at the next level. We established men’s wrestling as a developmental sport two years ago, and the resounding success of that program has set a strong precedent for this new initiative.” “We’ve seen the immense impact a well-structured developmental program can have,” Spataro added. “Our program will empower female athletes, enhance their competitive edge, and contribute to the long-term stability of the sport in California and beyond. Menlo College, with its unique position, is ready to meet the needs of these student-athletes. By providing a developmental program, we’re not just strengthening women athletes but also playing a significant role in the growth and future of women’s wrestling. Menlo’s new women’s program will compete for national titles alongside our men’s program in the NCWA, and we look forward to the continued success and growth of the sport.” To learn more, please visit: www.menloathletics.com.
