Soumendra De, Professor of Finance at Menlo College since 2009 until 2020, has taught finance since 1977 in reputed colleges and universities in the United States and around the world. He specializes in corporate consolidations via mergers & acquisitions and alliances at a global level, and keenly follows foreign currency and global capital markets, with a particular interest in Asian economies. He is the director of the Asia Research Center at Menlo College. He has published his research findings in the Journal of Banking and Finance, International Journal of Finance, International Journal of Business, and Journal of Emerging Markets. Professor De is a member of Financial Management Association, American Finance Association, Financial Executives International – Silicon Valley Chapter and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, a MBA in finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India, and a DBA in finance from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois.
