Biography

From Sri Lanka by birth, Dr. Manisha H. K. Perera has established a career as an economist and educator with international reach. She completed her Ph.D. in Economics at Auburn University, where her dissertation focused on privatization as an economic development strategy. She has taught Principles of
Microeconomics and Macroeconomics at Menlo College since 2019, connecting students to practical uses of economic theory. Previous to Menlo, she also instructed at De Anza College, San José State University, and the University of Northern Colorado, among several other institutions, instructing in international economics, public finance, and financial markets.
Her publications have included journals such as Essays in Economic and Business History and the Journal of Advanced Transportation. She has also worked on global projects with the World Bank and UNESCO/CIDA on development and transport economics assignments beyond the academic community. A former national tennis champion and Junior Wimbledon playe Dr. Perera brings discipline, commitment, and a global viewpoint to instruction and guidance.
