Menlo College ranks among the top Colleges in the West and earns a top-five ranking for social mobility.
ATHERTON, Calif. — Menlo College has earned three top rankings in U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings, including a top-10 ranking among Regional Colleges in the West and a top-five ranking for social mobility.

#8 Regional Colleges West#7 Top Private Schools in Regional Colleges West#4 Top Performers on Social Mobility among Regional Colleges West
Menlo College is ranked #8 out of 73 Regional Colleges in the West.
The U.S. News Regional Colleges category includes institutions that primarily award career- and job-focused degrees. These colleges are grouped and ranked across four geographic regions: North, South, Midwest and West. Menlo’s #8 ranking places the College among the highest-ranked Regional Colleges in the West.
Menlo also ranked #7 among Top Private Schools in Regional Colleges West, recognizing the College among the highest-ranked private institutions within its category and region.
The College’s #4 ranking for Top Performers on Social Mobility highlights Menlo’s performance in enrolling and graduating students who receive Pell Grants, which are federal grants awarded to students based on financial need. U.S. News calculates the social mobility ranking using Pell Grant graduation rates and Pell Grant graduation rate performance.

The U.S. News Best Colleges rankings compare more than 1,700 colleges and universities using up to 17 measures of academic quality and student success. The 2027 methodology emphasizes student outcomes, academic resources and peer assessment. Student outcomes account for 52% of the overall methodology and include graduation and retention rates, graduation performance, outcomes for Pell Grant recipients and post-graduation earnings.
