Senior Accountant

The Business Office at Menlo College seeks applications for the position of Senior Accountant. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible exempt position, and reports to the Director of Finance & Business Affairs.


The following is intended to be a descriptive but not necessarily all-inclusive list of specific responsibilities.  Job duties listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification and are not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks, and responsibilities.  Employees may also perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Prepares journal entries for all bank transactions, gifts and donations, and grants; and necessary reversing and adjusting entries
  2. Reviews and reconciles financial aid disbursement rosters and post financial aid entries in Jenzabar; works with the Director of Financial Aid on discrepancies and other issues that may arise, and initiates G5 drawdowns
  3. Reconciles all business and investment bank accounts
  4. Analyzes balance sheet accounts by preparing detailed reconciliations of assigned accounts
  5. Reconciles gifts and donations with the offices of Alumni Engagement & Development and Athletics
  6. Reconciles and monitors all grant accounts
  7. Reviews the monthly reconciliation prepared by the accounts payable and payroll accountants, and provide accounting support to the team
  8. Assists with the preparation of the Board packages
  9. Assists the Director of Finance & Business Affairs with special projects, as needed
  10. Assists with interim and annual financial audits; prepares and provides requested items to the auditors.
