Have grace for yourself as you embark on the college admissions process. It’s both incredibly exciting and overwhelming, so take some time to research and connect with students and staff. Remember that choosing a college is an investment – not only to an institution, but also to your own growth and future.
Menlo is located right next to the Santa Cruz Mountains, which offer a plethora of hiking trails and stunning natural geography that are filled with diverse ecosystems. I love exploring the variety of trails the Bay has to offer, and then afterwards getting a smoothie from Sidewalk Juice.
I love the lawn area right in front of El Camino Hall! It’s a vibrant green space on campus surrounded by oak trees and roses where you can study and hang out with friends while taking in the California sunshine.
I served in the Peace Corps and lived in rural Costa Rica for almost two years! I was a Youth Development Facilitator working at a vocational high school, where I collaborated with the school counselor and students to design and lead workshops on mental health while also co-coaching a frisbee team.
Basic Needs Pantry: The Oak Shack – It’s a wonderful spot on campus that provides free essential items weekly to support all of our students and make living expenses more affordable!
Internships & Career Services (ICS) – ICS is a really great resource for professional development, including connecting with employers and receiving feedback on resumes and cover letters to help you stand out as an applicant!
Student Success Team – Their job is to support you in succeeding as a student from the moment you step on campus, whether that is answering questions about class registration or connecting you with further resources on campus to support your academic growth!
