Pacific Islander Club Keiki Hula Classes (Children Dance Classes)

Mission: The Pacific Islander Club shares the various island cultures with Menlo College through events such as our annual lū‘au. We also encourage the island spirit across campus and are ambassadors to not only Pacific Islander students, but to all students during their college careers. We always encourage the participation of anyone who loves, likes, or might be interesting in learning about the culture of the Pacific Islands.

Keiki (Children) Hula Classes

We will be offering children’s hula classes, ages 5-13, in order to integrate the community into our annual lū‘au. We will be teaching the children the “hukilau,” which is a fun and educational hula dance. They will be performing this number at Menlo College’s 27th Annual Lū‘au. Not only will they be learning a hula dance, but they will also be learning about the Hawaiian language and the Pacific Islander Culture as a whole.

Please note: The parent/guardian will need to stay for the duration of the class and we should be informed if the child has any special accommodations.

Start Date:
Every Sunday from February 4, 2018 to April 8, 2018, no practice on March 4th. Dress rehearsal for Lū‘au on Friday, April 13. Total of 10 classes.
