Next Stop: Singapore

Amit Khatwani is embarking on a new venture. He and his wife Shalini and daughter Saachi (19 mths), will move to Singapore this summer. They are delighted that Singapore will not only place them closer to family in their home country, India, but also the fact that it is now a global financial services hub for Asia. Amit was an outstanding student, selected as a valedictorian for the Class of 2000. He served as Student Body President and student representative to the Board of Trustees.

“Amit was articulate and represented the students with the utmost professionalism,” said Cherron Hoppes, former Associate Dean of Student Affairs. “I have no doubt that Amit has carried his passion for his work, his communication skills and his leadership to the roles he has filled since graduating Menlo College.”

Following his graduation, he served as a Trustee, very involved in making positive changes for student life and education. Amit is an outstanding and diligent leader who has been very successful in Silicon Valley businesses.

Most recently Amit was at BlackRock in San Francisco. He was responsible for providing reporting expertise to global teams managing $112 billion of assets in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney and Amsterdam. Prior to this, he was with Dura Chemicals, Inc. first as a Research Analyst and then as a Sales Associate.

Amit started his career at Silicon Valley Bank where he was involved in receivable financing and underwriting financial transactions for technology and life science companies. Overall, he has spent over 9 years in financial services, with a proven track record in handling institutional clientele located globally, relationship management, end-to-end process management, risk management, sales and financial analysis. Amit is a good example of a graduate using the Menlo Advantage and applying it to jobs that have not yet been created or imagined in today's business climate.
