Atherton, CA – February 12, 2018 – The Menlo College Board of Trustees has named Steven A. Weiner to serve as 11th president of the College.

“It is with great excitement that we look forward to his leadership as President,” said Micah Kane, Chair of the President Search Committee, and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. “Steven’s passion for Menlo, his leadership skills, and his track record of success are all well known to all of us. We are confident in his ability to position the College for future success.”

Steven Weiner is not new to Menlo. He has served the College as Executive Vice President since January 2013. His career prior to Menlo included sixteen years in leadership roles at the University of Chicago, and ten years leading consulting practices, first for SAIC, and subsequently for First Consulting Group. In 2006, he co-founded an open source medical software start-up.

“I congratulate Steven for this recognition of all that he has done for the College over the last five years, and all that we know he is capable of doing to ensure a strong and vibrant future for Menlo College,” said Geir Ramleth, Chair of the Menlo College Board of Trustees.

“Menlo is a very special place, where special things happen,” said Weiner. “Our students are highly competitive, in the classroom, on the playing field, and in their pursuit of extracurricular activities. Just today I learned that the team Menlo College is fielding in this year’s Bloomberg Stock Trading competition has a 5th place ranking against 265 other teams from colleges and universities across the U.S. A few years ago, Menlo made it to a 4th place finish in the commodity trading competition. Whether on the playing field or in the trading room, Menlo students rock.”
