MS Clinical Psychology Partnership with Notre Dame de Namur University

(Atherton, California: May 20, 2020) Menlo College is pleased to announce a newly formed partnership with Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU). NDNU recently announced that they will not enroll new undergraduate students for the fall 2020 semester. In concert with that decision, Menlo College and NDNU have signed a letter of intent that will provide for the highly-regarded NDNU Master’s of Science Clinical Psychology Program (MSCP) to Menlo College. The collaboration between the two schools will ensure a pathway to graduation for all current and newly admitted students of the NDNU program. NDNU has re-started its admissions to the Clinical Psychology program for this coming year.

This partnership reaps several benefits for both Menlo College and NDNU, including a secure transition for students who wish to continue in the program, and for the faculty who will continue to teach at NDNU and potentially, Menlo College.

MSCP would be Menlo College’s first graduate program. Menlo’s existing strong undergraduate psychology program, led by Professor Mark Hager, makes Menlo College an ideal fit for the Clinical Psychology graduate program.

“The graduate MS psychology program would be a strong supplement to our current undergraduate psychology program,” said Menlo College Provost & Vice President Grande Lum. “MSCP complements and enhances the psychology program’s role in Menlo College’s Mission to ignite potential and educate students to make meaningful contributions in the innovation economy.”

Recent MSCP graduates have exceeded state averages for licensure at the master’s of family therapy and licensed professional clinical counselor levels, according to Board of Behavioral Sciences data (2018).

Menlo College extends our sympathy to all of the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of NDNU in this time of transition. We empathize with the challenges that the NDNU community is facing during this highly unpredictable time and offer our full support.
