Menlo Student Named to American Red Cross Council

Senior Hanna Malak, three-time student body president, has been named to the American Red Cross National Youth Council. He will serve a three-year term as one of 13 council members. The council promotes the interests of youth volunteers and “advocate(s) for youth involvement throughout the organization” and “strive(s) to further the humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross by empowering youth and young adult volunteers to become community and organizational leaders,” according to  redcrossyouth.org.

 “My goal is to promote the Red Cross within my local and regional communities and to increase interest in volunteer services among my peers,” said Malak. “While cultivating professional and personal development, I hope to make a positive impact by helping others experience the benefits of responsible service.”

Malak initially became involved with the American Red Cross last year, when he was selected as one of 13 students in the 2010-2011 NAIA/ American Red Cross Collegiate Leadership Program.
