Menlo Receives “Champions of Character” Award

November 16, 2011

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has selected Menlo College as a 2010-2011 Five Star Champions of Character Institution for the second consecutive year.

“It is a tribute to our coaches and athletes that we are able to win this distinguished award each of the two years the program has been in place,” said Keith Spataro, Athletic Director at Menlo. “It speaks volumes for the type of coaches we hire and student-athletes that we recruit. It is a great honor to work with people that hold these core values close to their heart and more model them on a daily basis.”

The NAIA Champions of Character program was initiated in 2009 tocreate an environment in which every NAIA student-athlete, coach, official, and spectator is committed to the true spirit of competition through the five tenets: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
