Menlo College Receives $250,000 From The Lisa and John Pritzker Family Fund Web Master | June 4, 2014 Menlo College has received a $250,000 grant from The Lisa and John Pritzker Family Fund. The grant is designated for the College’s general operating support. John Pritzker '76, Founder and Managing Partner of Geolo Capital, was the keynote speaker at the College’s May 2014 commencement. An alumnus of Menlo College, he spoke about the nobility of being a servant leader and the importance of having and being a mentor. “Identify somebody you admire and cultivate a relationship because a mentor will change and enhance your life in incalculable ways,” said Pritzker in remembering his Menlo College professor and former president, Señor Carlos López. “I valued him as a teacher, mentor, and an all-round good guy.” Pritzker, a 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry has made significant contributions to the College throughout the years. “John Pritzker is a quintessential servant leader. His compassion and care for others is reflected in all that he does. His gift to the College will be enormously helpful to our students, staff, and faculty,” said President James J. Kelly.
