Menlo College Homecoming Week: October 6-11, 2014

Homecoming week kicks off on Monday, October 6, when Student Affairs and the Student Government host various activities that include a Bonfire Pep Rally for the football team, powder puff football game, movie night, a magician, and other various theme-related events. All of these activities lead up to the Homecoming football game on Connor Field at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 11, when the Oaks take on Arizona Christian University. Saturday night, the students will enjoy the Homecoming dance hosted on the Menlo Campus quad from 8 PM to midnight.

Following is a list of events for alumni, students and all Menlo friends that will take place in the days leading up to Homecoming weekend.

Thursday, October 9, 2014: Inauguration of President Richard A. Moran, Ph.D.—The Menlo College Board of Trustees will host the Inauguration of Richard A. Moran, Ph.D., as the 10th President of Menlo College on Thursday, October 9, 2014, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the Menlo College Quad. The keynote speakers will be Kerry A. Dolan of Forbes magazine, and Peter Moore of Electronic Arts. Friday, October 10, 2014: Hall of Fame Reception & Induction—The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Friday October 10, 2014 on the Quad. The inductees will be recognized again at half-time at the Homecoming football game on October 11, 2014.  The 2014 inductees are: Bill LeBlanc – Baseball & Football (1966-68), Melissa Hara – Softball (2001-2004), Mike Simmons – Football (1972-74), Kari Shimomura – Women’s Volleyball (2002-2006), Mike Bettega – Baseball & Football (1966-68), and Maria Gomez – Women’s Basketball (2001-2005).

Saturday, October 11, 2014: Alumni Tailgate and Homecoming Game—The Alumni Tailgate and Homecoming Game activities will start at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 11. Enjoy good food, wine and brew, followed by the game pitting our home team against Arizona Christian University. Let’s get together, meet the new president and enjoy the game!  The Tailgate is free.  Game tickets are $10, and parking is $10. Saturday, October 11, 2014: Alumni Softball Reunion—On Saturday, October 11, there will be an alumni softball reunion game at Wunderlich Field from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a softball fundraiser at the Homecoming Tailgate at Cartan Field at 11:00 AM. Saturday, October 11, 2014: Admissions Open House—The Office of Admissions will host an annual Open House from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 11.
