Menlo Adds Experienced Education Executive to Board of Trustees

Menlo College is excited to announce that at the most recent meeting of the Menlo College Board of Trustees, Zoanne Nelson was appointed as our newest Trustee.

Ms. Nelson is currently working as Chief Strategy Officer and Assistant Vice President for the University of California’s Office of the President (UCOP). University of California serves over 273,000 students with an annual budget of $36 billion. UCOP headquarters manages the university’s fiscal and business operations, and supports the tripartite mission of academics, research and public service. Ms. Nelson is responsible for providing strategic guidance, decision making, resource planning, policy development, and organizational design analyses for the UC system and UCOP.

Since 2012, Ms. Nelson has also served as Chief of Staff to the Chief Financial Officer and Program Director for a system-wide program that utilizes strategic procurement to redirect $200 million annually to teaching, research, and public service. Previously, she was the Associate Director for the University of California San Francisco Program Management Office, where she led the implementation of several finance, procurement, research, and HR systems.

Before relocating to California, she worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Washington D.C. and abroad, where she led projects for the U.S. Agency for International Development. Ms. Nelson holds an M.B.A. from American University and B.S. degrees in both Business Administration and Economics from the University of Delaware.
