Living Ethically in an Unethical World

Another season of the Ethics in Action speaker series opened with a presentation by Dr. Thomas Plante, professor at Santa Clara University and Stanford University. Dr. Plante discussed how one addresses ethical challenges in today’s world, citing an example of the sex abuse scandal at the Pennsylvania State University.

The Ethics in Action speaker series features executives from prominent Silicon Valley companies such as Accretive Solutions, VISA, StoneTurn, NetApp, Rambus, etc. Speakers talk about specific issues of the day and latest research that relates to business ethics and students’ coursework.

The series is created by the Ethics in Action Research and Education Center with support from the Ethics in Action Club. For dates and times of the upcoming events please check the calendar.

The next session will be held on October 2, and will feature Mark Faris, a convicted felon who describes the unethical slippery slope. This is followed on October 4 with the return of Cathy Connolly and Monique Christensen from StoneTurn.
