John P. Winston Sr. Memorial Fund gives $7,000 to Menlo

National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation's Chairman of the Board of Trustees Robert P. Mallon and Region IV Vice Chairman Peter E. Blackstock, who is owner of Lexus Monterey Peninsula and Victory Toyota, presented Menlo College President G. Timothy Haight with a check for $7,000 from the John P. Winston Sr. Memorial Fund.

John Winston was an accomplished attorney in Chevy Chase, Maryland, dedicated to ethical practices. He had a sense of balance and perspective when it came to making serious judgments that extended beyond the scope of the law. Clients were drawn to his humble demeanor and his counsel was sought after.

Knowing his keen intellect and sense of fair play about life itself, family and friends decided that the John P. Winston Sr. Memorial Fund would be helpful to students, faculty and benefactors of private independent colleges in America. To honor his memory, $7,000 is given annually for the study of ethics at each of four accredited private independent colleges or universities. The gift will be used for the further study and added emphasis on the discipline of Ethics at Menlo College.
