Joanne Ferchland-Parella Appointed Chief Advancement Officer at Menlo College

Menlo College welcomes Joanne Ferchland-Parella as Chief Advancement Officer. Ferchland-Parella brings extensive fundraising experience at institutions as diverse as Johns Hopkins, Mount Saint Mary’s University, Villanova University, Gustavus Adolphus College, Bryant University, and University of Maryland. She earned her degrees at Baltimore’s Loyola University (BA), Johns Hopkins (MA), and the University of Maryland (MBA).

“I am delighted to have been selected to serve as the CAO for Menlo College and look forward to serving as a member of President Moran’s leadership team,” said Ferchland-Parella. “The college’s unique approach to business education prepares students for success in their careers and personal lives. I have no doubt that alumni, parents, friends and community leaders will rally to support the president’s vision with generous support.”

As a leader of development and internal operations, she has an accomplished record of generating individual giving, annual giving, major gifts and planned giving support. Her work at institutions of business education has provided her with broad experiences working with corporate partners as well.

In her most recent role, Ferchland-Parella served as the Associate Vice President at San Diego State University. At San Diego, she managed a team of 42 including 14 development officers, and a portfolio of individual prospects for the university. She was a member of the team that raised over $500 million for San Diego’s first-ever comprehensive campaign and its development program was twice recognized by CASE with a national award for “Most Improved Program.”

“I look forward to working closely with Joanne as we build our fundraising capacity at Menlo College,” said President Richard A. Moran.
