In Memoriam – Morgan Flagg

Morgan Flagg passed away peacefully in Atherton CA on January 5, 2009 at the age of 82. He was a developer and entrepreneur who was a member of the Menlo College Board of Trustees from 2000 to 2003. Morgan, a good friend and neighbor to the College, stayed connected with the Menlo community beyond his tenure as a Trustee by attending events and continuing his involvement with the community and the President. He was a passionate art collector with an emphasis on California Figurative Art. He was Trustee Emeritus of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco and a member of the Acquisitions Committee. He donated many pieces of his collection, which are placed in the Morgan and Betty Flagg Family Gallery. His interest in politics and the Democratic Party led him to run for Congress in 1974. He is survived by his devoted wife Betty the “Pal of his Heart,” his daughter Mary Claire Colburn, her husband, Michael, her sister and brothers, Janine Holloway, Brian Flagg, James Flagg, and John Flagg, fifteen Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren and a loving extended family. This photograph of him chatting with Dorothy Skala was taken at a function at the President's home in December 2008. Our condolences are with his family and all those who, like us, knew and loved him.
