Menlo College held the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament last week, for the third year in a row. The tournament allows children with disabilities to have fun, at the same time providing Menlo students with an opportunity to give back to the community.

“The event gave these youth an outlet to get involved, have fun and make friends,” said Hanna Malak, Menlo’s student sody president and member of the men’s wrestling team. “Because of their special needs they are limited to what they can participate in.  However, this gives them a chance to make friends and just be kids.  It brought tears to my eyes to see them give each other high fives.  They were jumping in joy for the chance to play.”
