Dabbling Encouraged at Art Rally

Time to Dabble

Students are invited to attend Art Rally, a hands-on art event on the Quad, September 29, 12:00pm – 2:00pm and open to all Menlo College students. The event will feature 5 stations where students can “dabble in the arts” to create work in doodles, soy sauce painting, contour line drawing, collage, or face painting.” We thought this would be a great opportunity for Menlo students to gather and “dabble in the arts” by experimenting with various mediums in a fun and laid- back atmosphere,” said Ann Haight, chairperson for the Menlo College Art Committee.

Campus Community Art Studio

Works created at Art Rally and photographs from the event will be displayed at an opening in the Kratt building for the Campus Community Art Studio, a new space where students can create art. The opening will be on October 27 from 4-5 pm, just before the Plein Air Art reception in the Administration building on the same day from 5-7 pm.

Plein Air Event

Art instructor and Artist in Residence Michael Pauker added, “In addition to creative fun at the 5 stations, find out more about other arts programs including the student art studio we are opening in Kratt. Currently, we are in the midst of the 2010 Plein Air event where local artists are invited to paint scenes of Menlo College's campus. Students are invited to participation Plein Air on October 2-3.”
