Connecting with PSP Alumni

In 2004, I graduated from the Professional Studies Program at Menlo College. I was working in commercial real estate for Marcus & Millichap and the PSP offered coursework that would directly apply to my job. I supplemented my program with international business management courses which helped considerably with my international commercial real estate clientele in the Bay Area. I'm so happy I made a great choice in choosing Menlo.

Working full time while attending Menlo in the evenings was quite a challenge! I wanted to achieve high grades and my work was challenging, so networking with fellow students was not a priority. PSP students differ from traditional day students since we aren't able to connect socially as much as we would like due to our responsibilities with work and family. After graduation I realized that I missed an important part of the college experience by not forming strong relationships with more of my classmates. To remedy this situation I have recently become involved with Menlo as an alumni volunteer networking with alumni.

Reconnect

I recently attended a PSP dinner meeting on campus, sponsored by External Affairs and hosted by Tina Fairbairn, Director of Alumni & Community Relations, to discuss topics specific to the PSP. One of the alums shared her story with me–I learned about a career I had no idea even existed! Would you like to have coffee or lunch with a student or alum with similar career interests? Would you like to reconnect socially with a cohort member that you just didn't find time to see after graduation? Join the Menlo PSP Alumni Facebook page and the Menlo College Alumni LinkedIn group. I am currently volunteering in External Affairs to promote these kinds of activities.

The PSP program made a difference in my life, and I support this extra special educational experience. If you agree, contact Tina or me, tfairbairn@menlo.edu, lisa.gillim@menlo.edu 650-543-3937. Your input is valued and welcomed!
