Club Fair: Something for Everyone

The Club Fair is a window into the many interests of Menlo College students.

September 8, 2011

At yesterday's Club Fair, hundreds of students stopped in front of the dining hall to become acquainted with Menlo College's numerous student clubs. This semester's 44 clubs, a record number for the school, range from well-established groups like the Hawa'ii Club, which is the largest of the clubs; to complete newcomers, like the Country Club, which is for devotees of country music and rodeos. As students talked to club leaders at the tables, a mariachi band played in the background. The music was co-sponsored by the student government and the Latino Society, a club that is celebrating Spanish Heritage Month.

“The fact that we have so many clubs says a lot about the incoming class—right off the bat, they've been so engaged,” said Hanna Malak, student body president. “It's so rewarding to see that there's something for everyone. The diversity of the clubs reflects the diversity we have on campus.”
