Campus Rallies to Support Student with Cancer

December 6, 2011

The Menlo community has launched several initiatives to support senior Al Kinslow who was recently diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. A fund has been created to help Kinslow and his family navigate through this very difficult time. Groups of students held fundraisers selling baked goods and bubble tea to fellow students, faculty, and staff during the past week to help support immediate needs for Kinslow, his girlfriend Keaton Long, and their three-month old daughter.

“It is so fitting that the campus has come alive to help Al and his family in their time of need,” commented Keith Spataro, Athletic Director. “Al has been giving to this campus selflessly in so many ways for the last three years and his willingness to always be there for us was indeed remarkable. I am so appreciative of what the campus is doing and I know that Al and Keaton are extremely grateful.”

If you would like to make a tax-deductible financial contribution to help Al Kinslow, Keaton and the baby during the holidays and beyond, please use the online donation form or contact the Advancement office at 650-543-3887. If you would like to help in other ways, please contact the Student Affairs office at 650-543-3779 or Keith Spataro at 650-543-3853.
