Menlo Alum Helps HP Move Forward

Since December 2009, Roberto has been a Finance Associate at Hewlett-Packard, Guadalajara area, Mexico. As a student, he was highly motivated as well as a creative student leader, which transfers quite appropriately to his current job.

“I think Carlos Guzman, former Mexico Director at HP, said it best when he said that 'The value of something should not be measured by the time it lasts, but by the intensity it was lived with.' Growing, learning, and performing with intensity at HP has been easy to do when values and objectives are aligned to my own.”

Among the regular financial activities such as auditing and validating reports and MEC activities like accruals, IC Billings, and Central Card payments, I've had the opportunity to focus on how Enterprise 2.0 is changing the way we operate and collaborate within our organization.”

Leveraging Social Media

Roberto is currently supporting HP's effort to drive Enterprise 2.0 through local and global Social Media projects like Nexus, SNIP and WaterCooler. His scope of responsibility includes these specialty areas: Enterprise 2.0, Lean Six Sigma, Project Management, Diffusion of Innovation Analysis, Change Management, Financial JVs, SAP and Business Objects functions, Customer Service, as well as supporting expense reimbursement for HP Canada.

Throughout his four years at Menlo, Roberto was a recipient of a full scholarship from the Chiles Foundation. His activities at Menlo College included President and Founder of the Menlo Music Club, Menlo College Soccer Team, Entrepreneurship Club, Business Plan Competition, and Financial Management Tutor. He was also a member of the Delta Mu Delta honor society. In 2007, he was inducted as a member of the International Honor Society of Business Administration at the College.

Since graduation, Roberto has kept in close contact with his former soccer teammates, and he recently participated in the Señor Carlos Lopez Memorial Soccer Tournament on campus.
