International Management – Lecturer

Menlo College invites applicants for a lecturer position in International Management. The college seeks individuals with a strong background in teaching and scholarly research in the area of International Management or a closely related field. The individual hired for this position will have the opportunity to shape the growth of Menlo College’s International Management program, which focuses on deepening students’ understanding of the roots of international trade and commerce, and the new challenges and opportunities associated with the emerging global economy.

Menlo College is a diverse four-year undergraduate college with majors in business and psychology. The college is located in the heart of Silicon Valley which allows students a variety of internship experiences and real world learning. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for careers while integrating their studies within a liberal arts foundation. Menlo is a small but growing school (~750 enrollment) that offers small classes that facilitate faculty-student interactions. Menlo’s School of Business Administration is AACSB accredited. On-campus housing options are available.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a M.A., Ph.D. or J.D. in a field directly related to International Management from an AACSB accredited school (degree must be completed and awarded prior to appointment date).

Candidates must be able and qualified to teach classes at the undergraduate level in International Management and related areas. Candidates must have an active record of scholarship related to their specialty area. Excellence in both teaching and scholarship must be demonstrated.

Candidates are preferred who have teaching and/or research experience with a diverse student body, and who have experience in multicultural settings. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a collaborative and collegial environment.

Responsibilities

The position requires undergraduate teaching in International Management with secondary assignments in related business topics, mentoring and advising undergraduate students, maintaining an active ongoing scholarship program in one’s area of specialty, and active ongoing engagement in shared governance and other service to campus and community.

Rank and salary

Lecturer. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
