Position Overview
The School of Business at Menlo College seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in the area of International Business. A well-qualified candidate at the rank of Assistant Professor will be considered to teach in the international business undergraduate major. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of courses in entrepreneurial international management. The successful candidate must have completed an earned research doctorate in international business or global studies. Candidates who are current doctoral students must be on course to complete all degree requirements by July 30, 2021.
We seek an individual excited about collaborating to develop and deliver innovative, practice-grounded learning experiences, teaching undergraduate students, conducting high-quality research, and being an active part of a community of scholars. Expectations of the Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrate strong potential for teaching excellence, along with a desire to work in a collaborative, team-teaching setting
- Possess background in business analytics and international entrepreneurial management
- Has a strong understanding of how technical knowledge is used to create insightful managerial action, as well as how that insight is effectively communicated
- Exhibit an interest in and an aptitude for building relationships with organizations in Silicon Valley and the greater Bay Area
- Equipped with relevant work experience and/or research directly related to the practice of their discipline
- Motivated to participate in courses and programs that are closely aligned with current international business trends, including project-based collaborations between students, faculty, and local companies
- Demonstrate potential for an active research agenda
- Possess expertise in the use of international business fused with global studies
Key Responsibilities
- Teach at the intersection of practical global business
- Produce and maintain scholarship that is grounded in business practice
- Active ongoing engagement in shared governance and other service assignments
- Mentor and advise undergraduate students
- Contribute to curriculum assessment as needed
- Participate in a collaborative and supportive environment with colleagues who have substantial business experience and research expertise
