Outside Scholarships

The following outside scholarships have been gratefully offered to Menlo students. Please take this opportunity to apply to as many of these scholarships that fit your criteria. Please keep in mind these are outside scholarships not given from Menlo College. Any requirements are made through the scholarship grantor and Menlo College has no say in the decision making of the outside scholarship.

Any questions or concerns must be taken up with the scholarship grantor.

The Advocates Scholarship

(Every fall and spring semester)


How to Apply: Must submit a 300-500 word essay on how you would make the highway and roads safer for people.
Amount: There will be one award of $1,000 for the Spring semester, and one award of $1,000 for the Fall semester.
Deadline: Deadlines for applications are December 11th for the Spring term and May 15 for the Fall term.

How to Start A Blog Scholarship


How to Apply: Create a blog and post a video on the scholarship website (More details on scholarship website).

Amount: $2,500

Deadline: Check website for deadline details, but applications are accepted year-round.

GVD Renovations Scholarship


How to Apply: Submit the following information at scholarship@gvdrenovations.com:

Amount: $1,000

Bank Family Education Fund

Lasik Plus Scholarship


How to Apply: Entrants must submit their 500-700 word essay electronically by sending it, via email, to scholarship@lasikplus.com. To be eligible for consideration, each entry must include the essay, the entrant’s contact information (including, at a minimum, the entrants contact information, including the entrants full name, the name of the University of College of enrollment, current major, email address and phone number where the entrant can be contacted.

Deadline: This scholarship is offered during the Spring and Fall semesters (2017-2022). Applications are accepted year-round.

How to Apply: 1) Go to: Mattresses for Back Pain 2) Read the blog post (about a 4-minute read) 3) Leave an awesome and truthful comment about the blog article 4) Share the post on your social media 5) Submit a 1-page essay to scholarships@trymattress.com on the topics: “What College Students Should Know About Sleep?”
Amount: $1,000 (2 chances to win)
Deadline: March 20th each year.

Student Loan Hero $5k Scholarship


How to Apply: Submit a short essay (500 words or less) answering the following:
What financial challenges have you overcome growing up? How have they shaped your goals and career aspirations?
Amount: $5,000 (2 chances)

Key Thinkers Scholarship


How to Apply: Write an essay that in 500-750 words regarding the question: What does financial responsibility mean to you and what steps should students take to plan their budget?
Amount: $2,500
Fall: September 30, 2021
Spring: March 31, 2022

Pretty Photoshop Actions Scholarship Program


How to Apply: Carefully research and compose an essay style Adobe Photoshop tutorial of 800 to 1,000 words, with screenshots and photos included to illustrate your points on one of the following topics. Use proper grammar and punctuation.
Amount: $500
Deadline: October 15th (Annually)
