Orientation

Welcome to Menlo College. We are delighted you chose to pursue your undergraduate education with us. When you applied for admission, you took an important step toward achieving your academic and career goals.

Menlo prides itself on being a small and highly participatory campus environment. One way Menlo will help you to achieve your goals is through participation in our community activities. Faculty and staff from all areas of Menlo—Residential Life, Student Affairs, Athletics, and Academic Affairs—work together to integrate co-curricular activities, such as community service and leadership development, with academic and social programs to provide you opportunities to learn about yourself and others. Your participation in our community will engage your "head, hands and heart." In this way, a Menlo education prepares students to become business and community leaders who think critically, manage resource responsibility, communicate effectively and incorporate a multicultural and international perspective in their lives and work. New Student Orientation is the beginning of your journey.

Entering a new campus community can be both exciting and overwhelming. This New Student Guide was prepared to answer several of the most commonly asked questions, and will assist you greatly as you start your academic career at Menlo. In this guide, you will find information regarding the resources available at Menlo, and this information will assist you in making a smooth transition as a college student.

We are committed to providing a comprehensive academic program that incorporates and promotes learning throughout the Menlo Community, a truly integrated community. We look forward to working with you in achieving your goals. Best wishes for a productive, enjoyable and exciting year.

Sincerely,

Dale Hockstra
Academic Dean
Yasmin Lambie-Simpson
