The aim of the program is for each member of the community to act as an extension of the Office of Security by serving as an observer and reporter. Security and Crime Reporting Information

Reporting Timeframe

Campus Crime Statistics are recorded by calendar year. Menlo's crime statistics for calendar years 2006, 2007 and 2008 are available here.

Timely Warning

Timely warnings are distributed to members of the Menlo College (and Menlo School) communities whenever a crime or other substantial threat is believed to be present. This information will be disseminated by means of email and campus bulletins on notice boards. The Security Office maintains a close working relationship with the Atherton Police Dept and information sharing is conducted on a regular basis, as needed, to maintain to the extent possible a safe environment for the Menlo College and Menlo School communities.

Daily Crime Log

A Daily Crime Log is maintained by the Security Office and is available during regular business hours. The crime log contains reported crimes on or near the campus of Menlo College and is available within one business day of the incident. In cases where disclosure of certain elements of the incident would jeopardize an investigation, these elements will be withheld. The crime log will contain the following:

Vehicle Information

Parking spaces at Menlo College are at a premium. In order for there to be adequate parking for those associated with the College, everyone must adhere to the rules and regulations, use the lots assigned and use them properly.

Vehicle Security

All vehicles brought to Menlo College are susceptible to theft and/or vandalism. It is for this reason that we require adherence to vehicle rules and regulations. Parking lots are lighted and patrolled by a Security Officer, but the following are suggestions to keep persons and property as safe as is reasonably possible:

Vehicle Registration

All vehicles owned by and or operated by Menlo College students, faculty and staff must be registered yearly with the College by filling out a registration form online before proceeding to the Security Office with the required documents to pick up decals. Failure to do so will not absolve the owner and/or operator from fines incurred from illegal parking.
