Emmett Carson to Speak at Menlo College’s SBA Day Web Master | November 14, 2013 Dr. Emmett Carson, CEO and President of Silicon Valley Community Foundation, will be the keynote speaker at the Menlo College School of Business Administration (SBA) Day on November 19. In 2012, the Foundation, which has nearly $3 billion under management, made $294 million in grants to a variety of organizations that support the community. The SBA Day theme focuses on corporate social responsibility. A series of breakout sessions with featured guest speakers including Ms. Stephanie Rico, VP Environmental Affairs, Wells Fargo speaking on marketing; Ms. Victoria A. Stewart, Senior Attorney, Seagate Technology speaking on “Conscious Capitalism;” Assistant Professor Kathi Lovelace, speaking on conscious capitalism and employee wellbeing, “Capitalizing on Positive Events;” and professors Soumen De, Dr. Jan Jindra, and Dr. Dima Leschinskii speaking on “Can Capitalism be Truly Socially Responsible?” In addition, Professor Ron Kovas’s class will present senior business plan presentations, and eleven management classes will present mini-business plan elevator pitches. Mr. Nick Hofer of Boston Private Bank and Trust Company will speak about his experience and his work.
