The Menlo College Athletics Department is proud to announce William Mitchell as the new head coach of the women's wrestling program. Mitchell brings a wealth of experience on both the collegiate level and on the national stage into the position, as well as an energetic outlook that should elevate the program to national prominence.
"Many things went through my mind on learning I would be the next women's wrestling head coach at Menlo, but for the most part it was excitement to work with some great young women to reach their goals," commented Mitchell. "Obviously our goal is to win a national championship, but my true goal is to give students an opportunity for success."
Mitchell enters his Menlo tenure after most recently serving as the Director of Operations for the wrestling program at Lindenwood University in Bellville, IL, along with his role as Team Leader and Head Coach of Team Missouri Select (club team), and a coach on a variety of USA national wrestling teams. Mitchell was at the helm of the Southern Plains Team in Freestyle and Greco from 2008-09, spent time as an assistant coach for the Fargo National Tournament in Freestyle and Greco from 2009-10, and was most recently the Missouri Regional Greco Coach.
