On Monday, December 3, Menlo College welcomed Sodexo Guest Chef Salket "Johny" Patwary in the dining hall. Chef Patwary brought some Midwestern flavor to the student lunch, preparing classic Kansas City BBQ and other specialties. Chef Patwary featured a Braised Beef Brisket with a Bourbon Peach Glaze, and Chocolate Monkey Bread for dessert.
"I really liked it," said sophomore Brazel Marquez. "It was great to taste regional-style cooking that’s different from California cuisine."
Patwary’s visit was the first of Sodexo’s Signature Chef program, in which Chefs travel to various US regions to share their culinary expertise in many different specialties—BBQ, Mexican, Cajun, and Seafood, to name a few. The program allows students to broaden their knowledge of different cuisines.
