Menlo College extends its sympathy to the family, teachers, and friends of the students killed and wounded in the tragic shooting on Northern Illinois University's campus this Thursday. A college campus is like a family - supportive and accepting - and when trust in the safety of that institution is violated, the academic community around the world suffers a tremendous loss. Let us work together in a learning environment where human dignity is respected and where discussion of diverse perspectives is openly encouraged without fear of violence.
