Menlo Oaks baseball player Chris Mazza signed with the Minnesota Twins this past weekend, making him the first player in the school's history to go into major league baseball. Drafted back in June, he will begin by entering the Twins minor league system.
“It was unbelievable because my dream was finally coming true,” said Mazza. “I am now a professional baseball player.”
Mazza's next step comes after three very successful years with the Menlo Oaks. He is the program’s record-holder in triples and saves, and is tied for the honor in home runs, with an astounding 19 to his name. “It shows that Menlo is moving up in the baseball world and is finally on the map,” said the Oaks shortstop and closer.
