A Recipe For Change Web Master | April 18, 2013 On Thursday, April 11, 2013, members of the Menlo College community came together to discuss women’s empowerment at the annual Women’s Empowerment Dinner. The event featured Jennifer Lee, an activist and social worker for under-represented groups. “I think it is important to bring in someone from outside of the Menlo community and outside of business,” said Aleema Iqbal, President of the Women’s Empowerment Club and organizer of the event. “We need to open our minds to the outside world and change our perspective.” After being treated to a three-course meal, attendees got to hear Ms. Lee’s story, from her struggles as a young woman to her life-changing travels to Palestine. Ms. Lee spoke about her “recipe for change” and what people can do in their every day lives to make a change and empower those around them.
