Finding Books on Your Topic
Bowman Library Book and Media Catalog - search by keyword or subject heading to find books in the Bowman Library collection. If you are writing on current controversial topics, try the Opposing Viewpoints series, the Introducing Issues With Opposing Viewpoints series, and the At Issue series.

CQ Researcher - Search here for reports on timely and controversial topics, such as women in the military, sex education, and professional football.
EBSCO - Use to find articles on controversial issues. Adding some of the following words to your search may help find articles useful in an argumentative essay: opinion, editorial, commentary, op/ed, pro/con, viewpoint, debate.
LexisNexis - Use this link to directly search The New York Times. To search another publication by name, click "Remove" and type in a new publication name.
