Finding Books in the Book and Media Catalog

Bowman Library Catalog - search by keyword or subject heading to find books in the Bowman Library collection. Also search by your company's name. You might want to consult a book to see samples of ethics audits. Some suggested subject headings are listed here.

Finding Background Information on Business Ethics

Credo Reference - an electronic collection of books, including many on business. This is a good place to look, in addition to your textbook, for definitions and background information on business ethics, corporate governance, and social responsibility of business. It's a useful place for finding good keywords for searching for articles in the databases listed below.

Conference Board - reports on key business issues, including topics such as governance and business ethics.

Finding Articles on Business Ethics and Your Company

Use these resources to find magazine, newspaper, and scholarly journal articles on business ethics and your company. Search for your company's name and add search terms such as the following: "ethics"; "ethics compliance"; "code of conduct"; "corporate governance"; and "human rights."

EBSCOhost - contains articles from both the popular press (newspapers and magazines) and scholarly journals. Be sure to use the "Subjects" listings after your initial search. A good place for current news on the company you are researching.

JSTOR - contains scholarly articles on many aspects of business.

Both Google and Google Scholar are good places to use for this project, keeping in mind that full text may not always be available. If you have the time, some material can be ordered via Interlibrary Loan.
