This database has both statistics and reports on industries and consumers in countries worldwide. You can find there lifestyle trends and expenditure statistics, industry reports and market size data, and analysis of key political and economic data about countries.

Standard and Poor’s NetAdvantage (Library database)

Select "Industry" tab from the top menu.
Note: you can find up-to-date information about broad industry segments – performance, perspectives, top players. “Global Industry Surveys” provide that information for countries other than United States – Asia and Europe have the best coverage, Latin America is limited (for now).

This database offers quick access to information about the business climate (for example, registering the business, hiring workers, getting credit) in each of the featured 145 countries. Part of the data is shown as indicators reflecting government regulations and their effect on small- and medium-size firms.

Investment climate

The World Bank provides data on “business perceptions of the investment climate” in 71 countries, based on surveys of 40,000 firms.

Transparency International (TI) is a leading global non-governmental organization devoted to combating corruption. The site contains business tools (guidelines), surveys and studies of corruption at national and international level. Look under “Corruption – Learn about IT” heading on the side menu.
