Biography
BiographyPrior to joining the Menlo faculty in August 2011, Mr. Klingler was Director, Accounting Research and IFRS Implementation at Alcoa Inc., responsible for the transition of Alcoa’s accounting policies to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). He was also responsible for researching new accounting pronouncements, assessing the impacts to Alcoa, developing Alcoa’s position on these pronouncements and responding to the standard setting bodies as appropriate.
Mr. Klingler joined Alcoa in 1985 after spending three years with the CPA firm of Coopers & Lybrand and five years with Gulf Oil Corporation in Pittsburgh. Since joining Alcoa, Mr. Klingler moved through a variety of positions in the company, including pension fund investment management, merger and acquisition support, Finance Director of various Business Units and Director of Financial Accounting.
