Robert Rius ’01 – From Menlo College to Wealth Manager

Today, Robert leads The Wolfe-Rius Group at Morgan Stanley's financial planning and wealth advisory practice and has extensive knowledge and experience in retirement, estate, education, philanthropic, income planning and analysis. Robert helps manage the creation of each family's wealth plan through coordination with the clients’ other trusted advisors, including their CPAs, estate attorneys, business attorneys and trustees. Robert also works on asset allocation models and tactical investment selection and is responsible for the ongoing due diligence related to a wide range of investment vehicles incorporated within client portfolios. He has been involved in the financial services sector for over 10 years.

Leadership and Community Involvement

While at Menlo, Robert honed his leadership skills. He was the Team Captain for the Menlo College Basketball Team for the 1999-2000 season leading our team to win the 1st ever Cal Pac Conference Title. Since graduation, Robert has continued his involvement in sports, leadership and youth. He is the founding board member of a youth organization created to teach life lessons through sport. He is also a member of the Junipero Serra High School Boys’ Basketball staff, where for the past three years, was the Head Coach for the boys’ Junior Varsity Team.

From the Classroom to the Job

Robert graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in May 2001. He has taken his knowledge from the classroom into the world of finance, moving up the ranks quickly and earning the position of Senior Vice President, Wealth Advisor, by 2003. Today he focuses on making sure executives in the Silicon Valley have investment solutions that are commensurate with the complexity of their financial lives.

Robert took advantage of everything Menlo had to offer. He confidently moved from top student athlete to top wealth advisor in a competitive marketplace.
