Articulation Agreements and Transferring Credits

Transferring Your Credits

Menlo College accepts transfer credit from accredited institutions and allows students to apply a significant number of previously earned units toward their degree.

  • Bachelor of Science in Business: Up to 79 semester units may be transferred (maximum 70 lower division and 18 upper division), with 41 units completed in residence at Menlo.
  • Bachelor of Arts: Up to 88 semester units may be transferred (maximum 70 lower division and 18 upper division), with at least 32 units in the major completed in residence.

Credits from Non-Traditional Sources

Menlo College evaluates credit from several sources, including Advanced Placement Exams, International Baccalaureate Exams (higher level only), CLEP, and military education and experience.

Assist.Org

Menlo College has articulation agreements with many California community colleges to help students plan a smooth transfer. These agreements show how courses from your community college can fulfill Menlo’s general education and major requirements.

To see the most up-to-date course equivalencies, we recommend ASSIST.org, California’s official transfer planning resource. ASSIST allows you to view agreements by community college, major, or course, helping you make informed choices about which classes to take before transferring to Menlo College.

Select “Menlo College” from the institution dropdown, as shown in the reference image, then browse agreements via the “Agreements with Other Institutions” menu.

Transfer Equivalency System (TES)

The CollegeSourceTransfer Evaluation System (TES) is a tool that helps you see how courses from other schools might transfer to Menlo and count towards your degree. While this tool is a great starting point, it does not replace the advice you will get from your academic advisor.

The course equivalencies listed in TES are intended as a planning guide for students; they are not official articulation agreements.

Acceptance of transfer coursework is determined by Menlo faculty and advisors, with the Registrar having final authority.

Official articulation agreements for Menlo College and participating California community colleges can be viewed on ASSIST.org.

TES is updated periodically, and course equivalencies may change.
