Full time positions for faculty or staff are eligible for our Employee Benefits Programs.

Payroll & Benefits

Employees are paid on the 15th and the last day of the month. Exempt employees are salaried and only require notifying payroll of paid time off taken each pay period. Non-exempt and student employees must keep time cards by pay period which are turned into the payroll office for each pay period. Employee Benefits are outlined here.

Human Resources maintains job classification and salary ranges for each position on campus. The College participates in several faculty and staff salary surveys in higher education each year. Additionally, the Human Resources Office participates in several local and national professional networks.

Following completion of a successful three month introductory period, new employees are eligible to participate in annual performance evaluations and merit salary increase.

Each department is responsible for performance appraisal and salary administration along budget guidelines.

Employee/Labor Relations

Human Resources is vested with the responsibility for compliance with all state, federal and local requirements regarding all employment law and regulations.

College policy and procedure, as well as best management practices follow these guidelines.

Procedures for employment, record keeping, affirmative action, wage/hour and payroll, safety, risk management, security, etc are all maintained by the Human Resources Office.

Additionally, Human Resources is a resource for any employee wanting to discuss any employee relations issue that cannot be successfully resolved with their direct manager and department. Human Resources has the responsibility to investigate and/or facilitate resolution through department management or senior management, as necessary.

Training & Development

Employees are expected to keep current in their job responsibilities and the College offers opportunities to continue education and pursue career advancement through internal training programs and external development opportunities. Professionals and managers/directors are expected to complete the College leadership workshop series which is funded through the College's professional development budget. Tuition assistance and professional development benefits are outlined here.

Employees are also encouraged to be involved in such programs as monthly management meetings, leadership workshops, and a number of opportunities through our Life/Learn Community to become involved campus life.

Risk Management

Workers' compensation, liability, automobile, and all business and casualty insurance is handled by our broker and insurance contracts. The College maintains policies and procedures to ensure that faculty and staff understand such requirements as personal vehicle use, outside contracts and vendors, safety and accident reporting, security and facilities regulations, etc. Risk management works closely with facilities and operations, housing, student judicial, and campus security to maintain a safe working and living environment.

Sports Medicine

Our athletics department is served by the Athletic Training staff whose office is open during all of the athletic/academic year. Trainers are on hand at all campus athletic practices and games, and travel with the teams. Additionally the trainers are available during office hours to attend to athletes' injuries and needs to get them healthy and able to participate. The office is supported by graduate assistant staff training in sports medicine and physical therapy.
