The Silicon Valley is located within the southern reaches of the Bay Area. Silicon Valley covers San Jose and several cities of the South Bay. The Valley is home to many of the industry leaders in technology such as Google, Yahoo!, eBay, Facebook, Cisco, Apple, Oracle, Marvell, Intel, and Hewlett-Packard. The region is second in the nation in the concentration of Fortune 500 companies, after New York. Largely a result of the high technology sector, the San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area has the most millionaires and the most billionaires in the United States per capita. It is home to many sports teams both amateur and professional, such as the San Jose Sharks of the NHL, and the San Jose Earthquakes of the MLS.
