Homecoming 08

The Oaks look to thrill the Homecoming crowd for the second straight year when they take on the University of Puget Sound Loggers in a Northwest Conference battle at Connor Field.
Menlo defended its home turf when it exploded for the final 37 points to pull away from Lewis & Clark College in its 2007 Homecoming game, beating the Pioneers 51-14 to earn its first victory of the season.
Behind a record-breaking performance from running back Shaun Souza, the Oaks also defeated 2008 Homecoming opponent UPS 45-13 in its 2007 season finale. Souza set school single-game records for points scored (30), touchdowns (5), and rushing touchdowns (4). Menlo's defense allowed just 239 total yards as it surprised a Loggers team that entered the game with a 5-2 record.
Puget Sound was picked to finish just ahead of Menlo in the NWC Preseason Coaches Poll and should give the Oaks a stiff test as both schools look to make some noise in conference play.
